America celebrates the Declaration of Independence for two reasons. It shows an official severing of ties between the original 13 colonies and the rule of Great Britain. But it also represents the core of Americans beliefs, the very makeup of identity as citizens of the U.S.

America Celebrates their Independence Day by:
1. Activities such as Firework displays, Family get-togethers, Beach/lake trips, Parades, Sparklers.
2. Outfits of Red, white, and blue.
3. Food like BBQ/cookout,Hamburgers & hot dogs, Independence Day cakes.
4. Decorations of American flag, Streamers and Balloons, July 4th dining ware.

Independence Day is a public holiday. A day complete off for the general population,schools and most businesses. It is a patriotic holiday for celebrating the positive aspects of the United States. Many politicians makes appearance at public events to show their support for the history, heritage and people of their country. United States people express by giving thanks for the freedom and liberties fought by the first generation of many of today's Americans. The national monument Statue of Liberty is associated with Independence Day.

American enjoys July 4th as its Independence Day because the date shown on the Declaration of Independence is July 4, 1776. A declaration of independence might have been approved by Congress two days earlier, on July 2, but that was a closed session. July 4th is the date that was publicly announced and the date on the document informing the world of the thirteen colonies' intention to form independent sovereign states.
